Five Takeaways from Sunday Night’s WWE Extreme Rules

2. Fatal Five-Way with a Fine Ending

Many called for Finn Balor to win the ‘Fatal Five-Way’ main event to eventually take on Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Title at the next RAW PPV – ‘Great Balls of Fire.’

Instead the company went with Samoa Joe, a great choice as many are calling a Joe vs Brock match at the next RAW PPV a ‘dream match.’

It should be a very physical match and it’s by no means a for sure that Lesnar is going to go over, as the company could pull a quick switch and put the belt on Joe.

As for the others in the match, it was a great showing all the way around for Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. All five men worked very hard, with Wyatt using his usual tactics to try and get people to join him, only to at one point turn on Joe which was great.

Rollins flying onto the table was a great visual as well, and while Balor will have to wait another day for a title shot, it was a great strong way to end the PPV.
