1. What’s Dwayne Bowe’s Future?
After Thursday’s comments from Solomon Wilcots that Bowe had to ‘deliver’ to make sure he earned a roster spot, nothing he did Thursday really stood out to make sure he would put on a Browns jersey opening day.
Thursday night vs the Bears he caught one pass for eight yards, being targeted twice, not exactly big numbers for a guy that has missed much of camp with a hamstring injury.
He was given $9 million guaranteed when he signed his two-year deal with the Browns in March, and while it’s tough to think the team would cut the cord on Bowe this fast, it’s also apparent that he’s probably not going to be the impact player the team thought they were getting.
Update: Mike Pettine seemed to put to rest after the game any thought of Bowe not making the 53-man roster.
“Dwayne? No,” Pettine said after the Browns loss to the Bears Thursday night.
“He just needed to work, so that’s why he was out there.”
