4. Is Crowell the Chosen One at Running Back?
Once again the run game was ugly at best, as on the night the team ran for a total of 67 yards on 26 carries, a 2.6 yards per carry average.
The leading ground gainer was Terrance West, who ran for 35 yards on 9 carries, and caught a pass for 16 yards. One player who didn’t have to worry about running the ball was Isaiah Crowell, who stood on the sidelines all night and didn’t play.
By getting the night, it appears likely that Crowell will be the first to get the ball from the RB spot opening day against the Jets.
RB coach Wilbert Montgomery called out the backs a few weeks back, and while the run game never got going in the preseason, here’s to hoping that Crowell will be better than is 2.8 yards per carry average once it’s for real in 10 days.
