2) Running Wild
Despite pulling off a 20-10 win over the Giants last week, the Browns did so without much of a rushing attack. In that one, eight running backs combined for a mere 50 yards rushing and no back had more than 13 yards. Rookie Nick Chubb needed 15 carries just to get 11 yards. It was an ugly phase of the game for Cleveland. Against Buffalo, there was a clear emphasis on running the football and it worked. Seven of the nine plays they ran during their first possession of the game were run plays, including Carlos Hyde’s four-yard touchdown run that capped it off. Hyde had a great day, using nine carries to rack up a team-high 64 yards and had a few explosive runs of note. Chubb also had a much better performance with 53 rushing yards on 11 carries and a touchdown of his own. These Browns backs took advantage of some massive holes the O-line created for them and as a group, they posted 164 total yards. That was a reassuring sign for the offense.
