1. The British Bulldogs
What took place outside the ring on a personal level between cousins Tom Billington (Dynamite Kid) and Davey Boy Smith (David Smith) was tragic.
But make no mistake about it, for a couple years in the WWF in the late 1980’s, what the British Bulldogs did in the ring was pure magic. Their style truly revolutionized the way tag teams operated in the ring, with speed and high flying that no one had ever seen.
Their feud with Brutis Beefcake and Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine that led to a classic match at WrestleMania 2 was one of the best tag feuds in WWF during the 1980’s.
The stress on their bodies took its toll, as Billington suffered a back injury that to this day has him in a wheelchair, and Smith’s use of Anabolic steroids eventually led to him having a heart attack and passing away at the age of 39.
For a period though, they were the standard of tag team wrestling in WWF.
