DeSagana Diop
The eighth overall selection in the 2001 NBA Draft, Diop was selected out of Oak Hill Academy by Cleveland. The Senegalese big man averaged a whopping two points and 3.7 rebounds per game over the course of fourteen NBA seasons. Diop spent only four seasons with the Cavaliers before heading over to the Dallas Mavericks in free agency.
Diop’s claim to fame? Being included in the package that Dallas sent over to New Jersey for Jason Kidd. The Mavericks went on to win an NBA Championship in 2011 with Kidd, while Diop closed his career out with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Diop is currently an associate coach for the Utah Jazz.
