Encarnacion Walks The Parrot For Walk-Off Win; Three Takeaways

1. The Walk-Off

Come on, was it really going to be anything other than the walk-off?

The video practically speaks for itself, but here’s the rundown of what happened prior to Encarnacion’s blast into the bleachers. Bradley Zimmer and Francisco Lindor each drew walks before LA’s Bud Norris opted to intentionally walk Michael Brantley.

With the bases load, Encarnacion buried an 86 mph first-pitch slider from Norris to end the game.

Encarnacion ended the evening going two-for-four from the plate. While tonight was his sixth career walk-off homer, it was his first walk-off grand slam.

With his four RBI tonight, Encarnacion now has 1,001 for his career, and is just one of 11 active players to surpass the 1,000 mark
