The Browns Sunday night roster purge of former first-round pick wide out Corey Colman was not that much of a surprise considering many felt that he might not even make the team this season.
Coleman seemed to have rededicate himself to doing whatever it took to become a better player, but evidently in the eyes of the Browns, it was too little, too late, and they felt it was the right move to ship him to Buffalo.
With Coleman gone, there’s still two huge question marks about the teams’ wide out core, which includes Josh Gordon and when he might be back, as well as the teams’ interest in former Cowboys star wide out Dez Bryant, who the team has spoken openly about the last two weeks.
Bryant’s attraction to the Browns and likewise seems legit, but at the same time there’s been little to no movement in the last week, and nothing to this point is ‘pending’ on a move being made to bring him in.
Right away Sunday night fans questioned if the the move to deal Coleman was done to open the door for Bryant, but according to NFL.com Insider Ian Rapoport, that’s not the case at all.
Rapoport tweeted out Monday morning that the move to trade Coleman has nothing to do with a possible signing of Bryant, and that nothing (at least for now) is set to happen with the Browns inking Bryant to a deal.
Two notes on the #Browns trade of ex-first round WR Corey Coleman to the #Bills: 1. It’s not related to the status of Josh Gordon, who is still away from the team. 2. It’s not related to Dez Bryant, who is receiving interest from CLE but nothing imminent.

We will see if there’s any movement between the Browns and Bryant this week, or if the Browns have already moved on in the matter of signing Bryant.
