NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – As someone who has written two books on the Cavaliers, and a die hard life long fan, it almost pains me to make this prediction, but as any writer should, I’m going with my head over my heart when I say Warriors in 7.
I simply don’t see either team being able to win two games in a row in this series. They are far too good. I see Golden State winning tonight, and then rotating wins the rest of the way.
There is no doubt in my mind that Cleveland is much better than then were last year, with a deeper bench and all around talent. Like in any great matchup however, I look at coaching, and Steve Kerr is the more superior coach to Tyronn Lue. On top of that, Lue has not proven he can get his team to play consistent defense the way Blatt could.
I’m also concerned about open three points shots, the Cavs give up way too many three point shots and unlike the Raptors, the Warriors WILL nail them.
Now trust me, I pray that I’m wrong, I hope that I’m wrong. But if the Cavs lose tonight, I cannot see them winning 4 of the next 6.
I can also see this being it for the Warriors. As in, they win this year and then never again under the Curry reign. He reminds me a lot of Isiah Thomas. As we recall, Thomas won two straight then gave way to the Jordan era. I can see that occurring here, Curry finishing the back to back, then seeing the Cavs and James win three straight starting next year, all in dominant fashion.
Here’s hoping I’m wrong.
Go Cavs!
