The great rookie season Denzel Ward has been having, continued today as he was named NFL Rookie of the Week. This is the second time in the first five weeks of the season he has earned this award.
The play of Ward is a big reason why the Browns lead the league in takeaways with a plus minus of 8. Earlier this week, he was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week as well.
The rookie out of Ohio State is off to a blazing start with no signs of cooling off. GM John Dorsey took some heat last spring by drafting him fourth overall, but it appears to be have been the right move thus far.
Against the Ravens, Ward had one interception to snuff out a touchdown drive at the goal line. A blocked field goal, three passes deflected and 5 tackles in the Browns big 12-9 win.
Ward and the Browns will look to stay hot as they welcome in the LA Chargers to First Energy Stadium this Sunday at 1pm.
