Deja Vú: Cavs Sweep Raptors, 123-98; Three Takeaways From The Victory

2. DeMar’s Dreadful Series- DeMar DeRozan is one of the bright young stars of the NBA. His ability to score the basketball is pretty impressive and he possesses one of the best pump fakes in the league to create open looks. But it didn’t matter what he tried during the four games against Cleveland, he just wasn’t going to get anything going.

DeRozan once again shrunk when the moment got large and the spotlight became brighter. He couldn’t find his shot on the offensive end and it hurt him the other way on defense simply due to his confidence plummeting as each shot missed off the side of the rim. Heck, DeRozan even spent a majority of the fourth quarter in Game 3 watching his team from the bench due to his poor play.

There aren’t many times where you can consistently point to the star players for not showing up in a playoff series but DeRozan and his running mate Kyle Lowry continue to provide ammo for their critics. After yet another no-show from the tandem, one must wonder how much faith the organization has that this constructed roster has the makings of an NBA Championship team.
