The Browns secondary got some positive news on Wednesday as safety Damarious Randall returned to the practice field after sitting out Week Two and Three with a concussion. Tuesday marked the end of Randall’s stint in the NFL’s concussion protocol.
It’s a step in the right direction for the Browns defense that was down all four of it’s starters on Sunday Night against the Rams. Despite being so depleted on the back end the secondary held it’s own against a high powered Rams offense, yielding 255 yards. They did give up two passing touchdowns to Jared Goff and Cooper Kupp but as a whole the defense surprised viewers by keeping the Rams trailing or within one score for the entire game.
While Randall’s return is encouraging, the Browns secondary is still down three starters to begin the week of practice. Cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are still dealing with hamstring injuries from last Friday and did not practice Wednesday. Neither did fellow safety Morgan Burnett who is sidelined with a quad injury.
