Akron – In the second NEOBCA All-Star Game on June 28 at Canal Park, the Cuyahoga County All-Stars faced the Lorain County All-Stars.
In a close game, Cuyahoga County defeated Lorain County, 4-1.
The Lorain County All-Stars took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
The Cuyahoga County All-Stars, trailing 1-0, scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to take the lead.
They scored their first run when Isiah Smith from Brush scored from third when the Lorain catcher threw to second to try get the Cuyahoga runner out on an attempted steal.
“Today, I tied up the game here at Canal Park,” said Smith. He added:
“Honestly, I was just trying to get something going…So I just made something happen. I got a leadoff walk and just made sure I tied the game any way possible.”

Then, Cuyahoga County took the lead, 2-1, when Holy Name’s Jack Topolski drove in a run on a double to center field.
Carter Potts, from St. Edward, also doubled for Cuyahoga to drive in two runs in the 6th inning and make the final score, 4-1.

“Second and third, two outs, really just trying to do a job, get the guys in no matter what,” said Potts.
“Got down two strikes and tried to put the bat on it, and it dropped down, so it worked out.”
Isiah Smith from Brush was named the Cuyahoga County All-Star Game MVP while Dylan Crowe from North Royalton was named the Lorain County All-Star Game MVP.
