The Vikings fall to 5-11 overall and 1-3 in the Horizon League, while NKU improved to 12-5 on the season, 3-1 in league-play. Rob Edwards scored 19 points and Demonte Flannigan contributed 14, but Cleveland State loses 83-75 at Northern Kentucky this past Saturday afternoon.
Edwards hit 7-of-12 from the field and added four rebounds and five assists. Flannigan posted his 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and added 4 rebounds.
Kasheem Thomas recorded 10 points. Jibri Blount added 7 points and 4 rebounds, while Anthony Wright posted 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists.
The Vikings seem to get the production they needed from everyone this time with the excpetion of Boddy Word. When Their “Big 3” (Flannigan, Edwards, and Word) all score in double-digits, they have the best chance of winning. What a revelation! However, one night it will only be one of them, the next night just two. If and when all are firing on all cylinders, the Vikings are a dangerous team to play.
Next up for CSU; University of Illinois-Chicago Flames (UIC) come to town for a 7:45 tip-off, January 12th.
