Busy weekend for Benny Dargle’s crew with a full weekend of soccer. Coming off late minute loss to Cincinnati last weekend, the Crunch hope to improve their late game finishing abilities. Cincy held the Crunch to no goals for almost all of the second half. That’s 29 minutes and 47 seconds!

It wasn’t for lack of shots. Cleveland dominated that statistic. They just need to find the back of the net. The Tom Beck and Ryan Minick show accounted for five goals last week. They will need to be that good again.

Rapid City has players that will shoot first and often just take the ball from end to end without passing. Only one of the eight goals in their first game came off an assist! Cleveland pressures well so Rapid City will need to find passes to teammates.

Detroit

This is Detroit’s opening weekend. They have a match with the Swerve tonight in Cincinnati then get their first look at the Crunch in Detroit.

Detroit is led by players/co-owners/coaches/technical directors Dominic and Mario Scicluna.

Crunch eager to play after the loss

Luciano Ruscitto, owner of the Crunch, shared his thoughts on this weekend’s games.

“Going on the road for back to back games always makes for a long weekend.”

It’s tough to play teams that you have never seen before. You plan but never know what the game will determine. So, the adjustments in game will be key.

“Grand Rapids and Detroit are both solid organizations, and we are all anticipating two great match ups this weekends.”

Maybe a weekend in Michigan will be good for the team.

“I think the boys are eager to get back into the win column after last game, too!”

Cleveland will then take a break until their home opener on January 28th. Join the livestream for all the indoor soccer action! Ticket information will be available soon.
