One player whose name has come up more than once regarding the Indians is that of outfielder and former member of the Tribe Shin-Soo Choo, who is still playing with the Rangers.
Adam Morris of Lone Star Baseball, the SB Nation Texas Rangers blog, says that he could see a scenario that the Indians might make a play for Choo (who is due $21 million next season), as long as the Rangers eat a rather large part of his massive contract.
Obviously, the Rangers would still need to subsidize a good chunk of Choo’s deal.

Choo is having an All-Star season for the Rangers, hitting .273 with 20 homers and 56 RBI, but again his salary is a major point of contention if the Indians have their eyes set on him.
We discussed some possible players via the Waiver Wire on Thursday, including Choo, and the field is rather weak if the Tribe does decide to make a move.
For now, it’s a wait and see with Encarnacion until the results of the MRI come back, hoping for the best news possible on the Tribe 1B/DH.
