1. Cheers to 20
Indians ace Corey Kluber dominated the Sox yet again, going seven innings without allowing a run on four hits with one walk and 11 K’s.
The 20th win marks a career-high for Kluber, and he is the first 20-game winner for the Central Division champions since Cliff Lee went 22-3 in 2008.
The numbers don’t stop there, as Kluber is the first Indians pitcher to win 20 games with 200 or more strikeouts since Gaylord Perry did it in 1974.
It was a great night for Kluber, who has been so good in his past 11 starts against the White Sox, that with the result Monday his ERA dropped to 1.86.
He’ll get one more regular season start on Saturday in Kansas City.
