On Sunday, Corey Kluber was announced as the Pitcher of the Month for August in the American League.
Kluber had the honor of Pitcher of the Month for the month of June also this season. This is the 4th time in his career that Kluber has been the Pitcher of the Month.
Kluber was 5-1 in the month of August, logged 46 innings pitched, struck out 54 batters, only walked 6, and had an ERA of 1.96.
Kluber had two complete games in August. One on August 3 against the New York Yankees and another on August 8 against the Colorado Rockies.
Kluber is easily a contender for the Cy Young Award for the 2017 season.
The Cleveland Indians ace is 14-4, walked 33, struck out 222, has an ERA of 2.56, 4 complete games, and 2 shut outs. Kluber has only started 24 games this season because of a trip to the Disabled List early on in the year.
Jake Arrieta from the Cubs won the honor of Pitcher of the Month for the NL.
