Since May 3, Corey Kluber has been on the shelf. Kluber has been out with a lower back strain since he made his last start against the Detroit Tigers.
Since Kluber has gone down with the injury, the Indians starting rotation has struggled a bit.
On Monday, Corey Kluber completed another bullpen session in Cleveland and is planning on making a rehab start in AAA Columbus.
Callaway: Kluber bullpen session went well today. On target for 5 IP (70-75 pitches) on Thursday in rehab start with AAA Columbus.

If everything goes well in Kluber’s rehabilitation start, Kluber would then meet with Indians personnel to find out if being activated off the disabled list is the next step.
According to Jordan Bastian, Terry Francona had this to say about Mike Clevinger being a bright spot in the rotation with Kluber being on the DL:
“You try to turn something that could be a negative into a positive. You don’t ever want to be without Klube, but Clev making these starts, one, it’s been good for us, but it’s been really good for him. I think he’s learning that, if he throws the ball where he wants to, he’s going to have success.”
