Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber finished third in the AL Cy Young Award voting, as Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello won the award.
Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers came in second.
Kluber received three first place votes, six second place votes and 12 third-place votes.
Oddly enough, more writers voted Verlander for first place, but Porcello had more second place votes.

If the polling had been done after the playoffs, Kluber had a much stronger case, but it’s a regular season award and the votes were cast right at the end of the season.
Kluber won the award in 2014, making this the second time he was in the top three.
Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals was named NL Cy Young.
