Cleveland State Looks for 6th Win Today Against Valparaiso at Wolstein Center

GAME PREVIEW:
•     Cleveland State concludes a brief two-game homestand with a 3:30 pm contest against Valparaiso on Saturday (Jan. 14) at the Wolstein Center.
•    It’s doubleheader with the CSU women hosting UIC at 1:00 pm.
•    The Vikings are 5-12 overall and 1-4 in the Horizon League following a 59-54 setback to UIC on Thursday night.
•    Valparaiso is 13-4 overall (3-1 HL) and is coming off a 78-62 win at Youngstown State on Thursday night.
•    Saturday’s game will be simulcast on AM 1420, WHK and ESPN3 with Al Pawlowski providing the play-by-play and Pat Vuyancih serving as the analyst.

THE VALPO SERIES:
•  CSU leads the all-time series with the Crusaders, 30-18.
•    Valpo has won the last five meetings overall and 11 of the 15 match ups since the 2008-09 season.
•    The Vikings are 16-7 all-time against Valpo in Cleveland, including a 6-4 record in the Wolstein Center.
•    The Crusaders defeated CSU in Cleveland last season, 66-43, in Quicken Loans Arena, and earned a 77-52 win in Valparaiso.

GAME 17 REVIEW: UIC 59, @CSU 54 (1/12/17):
•     The Vikings dropped just their second home game of the season, falling to UIC on Thursday night.
•    Rob Edwards led all scorers with 13 points, adding six rebounds and four assists.
•    Jamarcus Hairston had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Bobby Word scored 10 points with five rebounds.

UP NEXT:
•    The Vikings hit the road on Monday (Jan. 16) for a 7:00 pm game at Oakland to start a four game road trip.
•    CSU will also play at Milwaukee (Jan. 20), at Green Bay (Jan. 23) and at Youngstown State (Jan. 28) on the road swing.
