As the Cleveland Indians prepare for Opening Day, here’s the Cleveland Indians Roundup for March 5th:
*The Tribe took the field in Glendale, Arizona for a clash against the Los Angeles Dodgers and fell by a final score of 8-1. Fueled by a seventh and eighth inning that saw the Dodgers score a total of seven runs. Yonder Alonso scored the lone run for the Indians on a double to center field that brought Yan Gomes around the bases to score in the top of the first inning. Mike Clevinger, Andrew Miller, Cody Allen, Ryan Merritt, and Evan Marshall all saw the mound today with Merritt taking the loss in the outing. Rich Hill started the game for Los Angeles and Corey Copping claimed the victory for Los Angeles.
*Speaking of Mike Clevinger, Tribe skipper Terry Francona provided some good news for the starter. MLB.com Alyson Footer reported that Clevinger had earned the fifth spot in the rotation for Opening Day as Danny Salazar is not going to be anywhere close to ready by the beginning of the season.
From Tribe camp: With Salazar behind schedule and Mike Clevinger having a great spring, the rotation appears set with Clevinger nabbing the final spot. Francona: "We're looking for Clev to have a big year. He's strong, and he should be able to be that innings-eater type pitcher."

Clevinger has continually improved and has really made strides since making his big-league debut a year and a half ago.
*The Tribe’s home opener is officially sold out, the team reported Monday. A big part of the April 6th game being sold out already is the increased amount of season ticket holders. For everyone else, the single-game ticket options will be available online only starting on Tuesday, March 6th at 10am until March 19th when fans can head down to Progressive Field to purchase their tickets. To purchase tickets online, go to Indians.com.
