The Cleveland Indians released their 2020 schedule on Monday.
Cleveland opens the season against the Detroit Tigers on March 26 at home. A home opener in early April used to be a bad idea, opening the year in late March in Cleveland can be worse.
The Indians play 16 out of the 33 games in April against AL Central opponents. Cleveland will also play a majority of their first month in cold weather.
Cleveland faces the NL West this year when it comes to inter-league play. The Indians will see the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies (in September), and San Diego Padres.
The Indians play a two game set in San Diego on June 23 and 24, those games will be the first time that Franmil Reyes plays in San Diego since being traded at the deadline this season.
Cleveland also has a stretch from August 11 until 19, that they’d be on the West Coast.

A quick reminder to Indians fans, Cleveland started off slow in April and early May but have managed to have a record of 71-47 so far in 2019. Cold starts do happen in cold weather.
