The Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles face off in a week one matchup on September 11th at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams hope that 2016 brings excitement along with a entirely new and fresh atmosphere.
Cleveland won three football games last year (3-13) and the Eagles managed to win seven games (7-9) but both teams overall were horrific.
Let’s take a look at the starting offense for both teams heading into this week one matchup, and let’s discuss some key points and how the Browns can come away with a victory.

Which Offense Will Shine?
Eagles Take:
The Philadelphia Eagles drafted quarterback Carson Wentz with the second pick in this year’s NFL draft. Just the other day Wentz became the starter after quarterback Sam Bradford was traded to the Minnesota Vikings for a first-round pick in 2017. Wentz will officially start against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
When you have a rookie quarterback under center and it’s his first professional football game, you have to wonder how this rookie prospect performs. Wentz suffered a small rib injury in the first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and missed the rest of the 2016 preseason. He will be rusty and this offense needs a decent quarterback to perform if they want to beat the Browns.
Philadelphia has quick running backs, a solid wide receiving core and a decent offensive line. In my honest opinion, I think this team is poised for a great season if rookie Carson Wentz can just be an above average quarterback. If Wentz throws more than two interceptions in this matchup, the Browns easily will win this game.
Browns Take:
The Cleveland Browns head into the new season with an entirely new coaching staff, but unlike the previous years, it looks extremely promising. Head coach Hue Jackson looks ready to lead his team to many victories this year. The rapport between head coach and newly acquired Heisman winning quarterback Robert Griffin III (RGIII) will be exciting to watch.
Jackson and Griffin together, along with this extremely fast offense, look ready to put some points on the board. Once again, the quarterback position will determine who wins this football game. Robert Griffin III and company just need to slowly move down the field and at least kick some field goals. Any points on the board from this offense will be crucial this season.
Cleveland has a solid running back core with second-year running back Duke Johnson and undrafted product Isaiah Crowell. Those two could be a dangerous duo this season if both start running the ball well: early and often. Jackson loves to incorporate his running backs and if those two look good early, this will open up this offense even more.
Expect a close football game and may the best team win.
Final Predictions:
Browns Offensive Yards: 360
*Eagles Offensive Yards: 230
(*Carson Wentz has a great opportunity to succeed but might be a little nervous and could struggle. It is his first official NFL start and he looked terrible in the only preseason game he played in.*)
