Wide Receiver
Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman are the headliners of this year’s wide receiving corps, which is potentially the weakest in the league. Britt comes to Cleveland following career-highs in receptions (68) and yards (1,002) last year in Los Angeles. Coleman will need to stay healthy. The Baylor product caught 33 passes as a rookie and missed six games. He suffered injuries to his shoulder and hamstring during organized team activities.
Rashard Higgins, Ricardo Louis, and Jordan Payton enter their second year hoping to make the roster. Louis is a near-lock, replacing Coleman last season when the first-rounder went down. Higgins and Payton rarely saw the field, combining for seven catches.
One name to watch is Mario Alford. He was an asset on special teams for the Browns in three games in 2016. The speedy wideout may not fill up a stat sheet, but he could be dangerous in the return game this season.
Other receivers at camp include Josh Boyce, Rannell Hall, Jordan Leslie, Richard Mullaney, and James Wright.
Prediction: Britt, Coleman, Louis, Higgins, and Alford, with a potential veteran signing after cuts are made.
