CLEVELAND, Ohio- Just one day after firing Ray Horton, the Cleveland Browns have a new guy in charge of their defense.
Gregg Williams, the defensive coordinator of the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams for the last three seasons, has agreed to join Hue Jackson’s coaching staff for next season. Jason La Canfora broke the news first on Twitter.
The Browns have secured Gregg Williams to be their next defensive coordinator. Done deal. Wholesale changes coming to defensive staff

People might also remember Williams as the man that was behind “Bountygate” with the New Orleans Saints defense from 2009-2011. The New Orleans’ defense led by Williams was paid bonuses for extremely physical hits and injuring players.
Politics aside, Williams has consistently fielded a defense that performs at a high level and will look to do so with a Cleveland Browns defense that ranked 31st this past season.
