Eastlake – Current NFL players along with Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell were at Lake County Captains Classic Park on Saturday afternoon for the Greg Newsome Celebrity Softball Game and Home Run Derby.
In addition, Professional Football Hall of Fame member, Terrell Owens, and Cleveland Browns Legend’s Bernie Kosar and Hanford Dixon also attended the event.
The event began with fans seeking autographs and pictures with some of their favorite NFL players and legends and Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell.
Also, along the right field line, Bernie Kosar and Hanford Dixon were interviewing celebrities for Kosar and Dixon’s weekly podcast, “The Bernie Kosar Show, with Hanford Dixon” which was presented live on Twitter during the event.

Appearing on Kosar’s and Dixon’s show before the home run derby was current Cleveland Browns player, cornerback, Martin Emmerson, in his second year out of Mississippi State.
After the player’s participating in the event had an opportunity to warm up, fans were entertained with a home run derby which consisted of three rounds.
Pitching for the home run derby was Beachwood Men’s Softball League Hall of Fame player, Todd Adelman, who is the president of Halprin Industries.
After the first round, the top players advanced to the semifinals.
Newsome and Mitchell then competed in the finals with Mitchell hitting 11 home runs in 60 seconds to win the title.
After the home run derby, the celebrities competed in a fun and entertaining softball game which ended very closely with Team Newsome edging out Team Ward by a final score of 15-12.
Just like Donovan Mitchell won the home run derby, Mitchell also had an excellent softball game as he hit two, 2-run home runs.
