1. Going small
When it came down to it, the Cavs struggled with the Wizards’ smaller lineup that consisted of Markieff Morris playing at the 5. Overall, that exposed some of the Cavs’ weaker spots especially in switching on screens.
“I thought it really had us in scramble mode,” head coach Tyronn Lue said. “We had Tristan on the floor, so we had a big on the floor. Defensively, it really put us in some bad situations.”

Overall, as Larry Nance Jr. said, playing Morris at the center made the Wizards’ offense more dynamic as a whole, which eventually enabled them to go on offensive runs as the Cavs defense floundered.
“When he’s setting screen and rolls it kind of makes them a little bit more dynamic,” he said. “He can screen and roll or screen and pop and it mixes it up and makes it tougher to defend.”
