2. Bench Production- In a game in which only two starters hit double-figure scoring (LeBron and Love), the bench was certainly called upon to show up. They answered that call.
JR Smith and Jordan Clarkson both rattled off big basket after big basket down the stretch and combined for thirty-one points in relief of the starting unit. While Smith scored nine of his fifteen points from the three-point line, he didn’t attempt a single free-throw. Clarkson was the opposite, going six-of-seven at the charity stripe while also knocking down five two-pointers. The two different approaches offensively left Dallas scrambling for answers and helped lead the comeback charge.
While it isn’t always preferred to win a game with only four guys hitting double-digits, it got the job done on Sunday. That’s all that matters.
