3. Cleaning Up The Glass- The Nets are tenth in total rebounds per game through the first part of the season, something they’ve taken a lot of pride in doing. They have not allowed many second chances and are not opposed to going fast with a quick outlet pass off the board. Cleveland is a team that has gotten better at defending the glass and not allowing so many freebies after being dominated early on. Without resident rebounding vacuum Tristan Thompson, the Cavs have been even better in the category and it’s quite puzzling to how they’re doing such a thing. Head Coach Ty Lue credits it to a collective effort, five guys getting inside the paint and fighting for the loose ball.
In a game against a young, scrappy Brooklyn team, that might be a big statistic at game’s end.
