The list of potential future Cleveland Cavaliers backup point guards continue to grow, as reports surfaced Tuesday night adding to an already crowded “who’s who” of veteran playmakers.

Farmar joins Mario Chalmers, Kirk Hinrich, and Lance Stephenson as point guards who will be working out for the team Wednesday.
The 30-year-old played two games for the Sacramento Kings this season, last playing on Nov. 6 before being waived.
In related news, Cleveland State graduate Norris Cole has been linked to the Cavaliers, along with three other teams.

Cole had been playing in China at the start of the season, but resigned. If he were to sign with Utah or Denver, he’d get a shot at playing meaningful basketball in the playoffs.
The Nets would be a situation where he could likely see a lot of playing time, but were out of the playoff hunt well before the midway point of the season.
Along with Cole, Farmar, Chalmers, Hinrich, and Stephenson, two more veterans decided to throw their names in the ring.
Sam Amick of USA Today reported Tuesday that Baron Davis and Andre Miller are both interested in auditioning for the Cavs:
former Cavaliers guard Baron Davis, now 37 years old and more than four years removed from his last NBA game, is known to covet the job and insists he could do it well so long as he had two weeks to get into tip-top shape (he played six games in the NBA Development League last season, averaging 12.8 points, 3.5 assists and 22.5 minutes. Also, fellow former Cleveland player Andre Miller, the 40-year-old who played in Minnesota (26 games) and San Antonio (13 games) last season, would certainly want this gig but has thus far inspired no mutual interest.
They seem to have as good a shot as Nate Robinson, whose posts on social media practically begging the Cavs for a shot have given NBA fans plenty of amusement over the last few weeks.
As of Wednesday, Feb. 1, it appears the realistic candidates include the four free-agents who will be working out, Jameer Nelson, and Deron Williams.
Indications from Chris Haynes’ ESPN report point to the team hoping to have its backup point guard signed by the All-Star Break.
