Crunch Time for the Rook

Wednesday night when the Cavaliers played the Raptors, rookie guard Collin Sexton seemed like a rookie. Tonight the young bull grew up. The great thing about this season for Sexton is he will be given the ability to grow on a nightly basis. Against the Raptors he was substituted for around the five minute mark in the 4th, as he seemed to be moving a million miles an hour because the rookie was trying to do too much.

Friday night Sexton was given his opportunity down the stretch, and he made the most of his chance. Sexton had six points in the final period and never seemed scared of the moment, in fact it was quite obvious the rookie wanted the ball in his hands. Now with rookies you take the good with the bad. So while you love to see him having the confidence to front Jimmy Butler in the post and push the ball up the floor, you could live without some of the forced shots. Those situations are still positives though for the rookie as they come from a place of aggression, he lives for those moments.
