Cavs Ground the Hawks 121-114 for 10th Straight Win: Three Takeaways

1. Inside the Numbers

Two numbers from the Thursday win that really stand out is the fact the Cavs outrebounded the Hawks 40-29, and also had more assists than Atlanta, 30-24.

Yes, the Hawks were able to build a bit of an edge on the scoreboard in the first half, but the Cavs seemed to control the tempo most of the night, and with the way they controlled the boards they wore down the Hawks.

Kevin Love did what he does best, control the boards, with a game-high 16 boards, six on the offensive side, and 10 on defense, and no one could match him underneath in the win.

The leading rebounder for the Hawks was John Collins, who had just seven boards, again showing how the Cavs were able to control holding the Hawks to one-and done when they were on offense.

Nights like Thursday when the Cavs own the boards are fun to watch, and Love was the big factor in why they had the physical edge all night.
