Cavs Grind Out Hard-Fought Victory Against Mavericks, 111-104; Three Takeaways From The Win

3. Miserable Three-Point Shooting Continues- The Cavs had a lot of success last season with their long ball, but it appears this year may lead to finding a new way to score points. Early on, it appears as if Cleveland’s days of lighting it up from behind the arc are behind them.

The Cavs went 12-31 from three-point land tonight, adding to their perimeter shooting woes through the first thirteen games. With the second unit primarily serving as a slashing unit that scores inside, the Cavs really only have four healthy players that can consistently shoot from three: LeBron, Love, Korver, Smith. What that signifies is that the offense is changing towards an inside-led attack. As long as it works, there are no complaints. With the way the team is shooting from the perimeter, maybe they should stick to working in the paint for baskets.
