3. Hill Helps Cavs Over The Hump- After taking a tough screen from Trevor Booker early in this series, Cleveland starting point guard George Hill had struggled to get back on the floor. A tight back gave Hill fits and it led to Jose Calderon stepping into the starting role during the middle games of the series. But Hill was available to play on Sunday and did just that in the second half.
With the unconventional starting lineup not featuring Hill or Calderon, it was wondered when either point guard would hit the floor. Hill did late into the quarter and actually never came back out of the game due to concerns of his back stiffening up when he went to the bench. His good play also had a lot to do with him playing the remainder of the game.
Hill was the only one of the four new guys acquired at the trade deadline to truly make an impact. He picked his spots and gave Cleveland eleven points in crunch time. He also made his way to the glass, cleaning up six boards in his efforts. Going forward, it’ll be interesting to see what strategic way the Cavs can use George Hill.
