Cavs Fend Off Pacers Late To Tie Series, 104-100; Three Takeaways From Game Four’s Win

3. Not Allowing Someone To Close- While the Pacers featured an extremely balanced scoring attack by game’s finish, it might have hurt them in the grand scheme of things.

Indiana’s leading scorer was Domantas Sabonis, who tallied nineteen for the team. But Sabonis’ hot hand wouldn’t mean too much late in the contest, as he hasn’t been counted on to close games for the squad. As a result, Indiana was left scrambling to find a finisher.

Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner both scored seventeen but neither led the Pacers during the closing moments. Oladipo spent a lot of time getting the ball out of his hands due to swarming coverage his way. It put Indiana in an uncomfortable situation, one where they couldn’t snatch a victory.

If the Cavs decide to let the Pacers have a balanced attack, it could stop Oladipo or anyone else from getting primed up for a closing act.
