The Cavaliers travelled to San Antonio Thursday night to take on the streaking Spurs, who had won nine straight and were unbeaten through 22 games at home.
The Cavs got out to a hot start, leading 12-2 in the first three minutes.
The Spurs would rally back, going on an 8-1 run, but the Cavs closed out the first quarter on fire, leading at the end of one 32-20.
J.R. Smith scored ten points while Tristan Thompson scored eight in the quarter.
The Cavs kept up their great start for most of the second quarter, but San Antonio ended it on a good note, heading into halftime down 50-44.
Tony Parker, who scored 18 in the first half, sparked an 11-0 run early in the third quarter to give the Spurs their first lead of the night, 57-55 with eight minutes left in the third.
It was back and forth the rest of the quarter until Matthew Dellavedova hit a buzzer beater from three-point range to make it 73-72 Cavs after three.
Unfortunately for the Cavs, the fourth quarter belonged to San Antonio, who went on to win 99-95.
Parker finished with 24 points. Kawhi Leonard added 20.
