1. How does the field look?
With the Cavs’ loss and the Philadelphia 76ers demolishing the Milwaukee Bucks, 130-95, the Cavs are officially the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. We will know exactly what day and time they play on Thursday morning.
Here’s how the East playoff field looks:
1. Toronto
2. Boston
3. Philadelphia
4. Cleveland
5. Indiana
6. Miami
7. Milwaukee
8. Washington
The Cavaliers enter the postseason having not played a game together due to trades and injuries, so will they be ready when the bright lights shine this weekend in their first game against the Pacers?
“It depends on which Cavs teams shows up,” James said. “We have the ability to be very dynamic. We’re still missing one of our key guys in Rodney Hood. We expect him to be ready for Game 1. Indiana can create some problems as well. Their All-Star in (Victor) Oladipo and, all those other guys off him, they play so well off him. Just got to be ready for that, got to be ready for what they bring to the table.”
As things stand now, their path to the Finals would ironically be the same as it was last year, opening with Indiana, followed by a likely showdown with the Toronto Raptors in the semifinals. If a depleted Boston Celtics squad survives the Sixers, the two could meet again in the conference finals.
