Cavs defeat Pelicans with second half comeback; three takeaways

2. Containing The Brow

The Cavs did a good job of limiting Anthony Davis in Friday night’s game to 16 points on just 6-of-19 shooting from the field, and eight rebounds.

After the game, Cavs interim head coach Larry Drew said he thought a big part of the matchup was Tristan Thompson guarding Davis, particularly in the second half. He also said that Thompson’s play opened up things for the Cavs as far as switching on defense.

“I think our guys who guarded him did a really good job,” Drew said. “We did not double team him. I thought we did a good job as far as bodying him up … I just think our big guys, they took the challenge. They did a really good job of making things tough for him.”
