The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 107-91, Sunday to improve to 32-14 on the season.
The Cavs were in control for most of the game, jumping out to a 15-point lead heading into the fourth, but the Thunder chipped away and knocked down three straight shots, cutting the deficit to seven with 8:40 to play.
Cleveland would not let it get any closer than that.
Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 29 points and passed for 10 assists.
LeBron James finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists.
He became the first player in franchise history to score 20,000 points.
Tristan Thompson had a big night, posting a double-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks.
Russell Westbrook recorded his 24th triple-double of the season with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was his first triple-double of his career against the Cavs and he now has recorded at least one against 26 of 29 other NBA teams.
Although the Cavs came away with the win, Kevin Love exited the game before the start of the second half due to back spasms and will not travel with the team to Dallas for Monday night’s game.
Love will undergo an MRI at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health.
The Cavs and Mavericks tip off at 8:30 pm ET.
