When the Cleveland Cavaliers headed into the All-Star break, LeBron James told reporters he wished the break didn’t have to start.
“It kind of sucks, because we’re playing such good ball right now,” James said.
Cleveland had won three in a row heading into the break and nine of its last 11 games.
The Cavs picked up right where they left off on Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena, cruising past the New York Knicks, 119-104.
LeBron looked fresh, as the All-Star certainly benefited from the week off, after averaging nearly 38 minutes per game in the first three and a half months of the season.
He posted a triple-double with 18 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds. Just another night at the office for the King.
Kyrie Irving scored a team-high 23 points, while Kyle Korver added 20 off the bench.
Channing Frye, Derrick Williams, Richard Jefferson and Tristan Thompson all scored in double figures, as well.
Courtney Lee led the Knicks with 23 off the bench, while Carmelo Anthony scored 20.
Kristaps Porzingis exited the game in the second quarter with an ankle sprain and did not return after halftime.
The Cavs (40-16) are now 8-1 in the month of February and return to action Saturday night at home against the Chicago Bulls.
