1. Clinching the division
With the win Monday night, the Cavs clinched the Central Division, and that could ultimately have playoff implications. The Cavs are not 100 percent in control of their own destiny when it comes to that No. 3 seed, but a win tonight certainly helps.
Cleveland currently sits at No. 4 and still need the Philadelphia 76ers to lose to either the Hawks tomorrow or the Bucks on Wednesday. On top of that, the Cavs still need to win on Wednesday against the Knicks. If both of those things happen, the Cavs and Sixers will finish with the same record. Since their season series was tied at 2-2, the Cavs will own the tie-breaker with their Central Division title, as the Sixers are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division.
Also impressive is the fact that this is LeBron James’ 10th consecutive division title (2009-18), the most for any player in NBA history.
