Cavs Click on All Cylinders, Roll Past Kings 120-100

The Cavs hosted the Sacramento Kings in the third game of a four-game home stand on Monday night.

Cleveland rolled through the Kings 120-100, in a game that was never in doubt.

Kevin Love returned to action after sitting out Saturday night with a thigh bruise.

The Cavs picked up where they left off from Saturday night’s win over New Orleans and led 31-23 at the end of the first quarter.

Cleveland kept rolling in the second quarter, never letting off the gas pedal, and the Cavs led 61-45 at halftime.

Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith both scored 16 in the half, leading all scoring.

LeBron James was dangerously close to triple-double territory with ten points, seven rebounds, and eight assists at the half.

Cleveland came out of the gate to start the third quarter hot, as LeBron scored seven quick points in the first two and a half minutes of the second half.

The game was never in question the rest of the way, as the Cavs came away with the 120-100 victory.

LeBron would finish with 21 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.

It was LeBron’s 40th regular season triple-double of his career. If you combine regular season and playoffs, LeBron has posted 54 career triple-doubles, second only to Jason Kidd, who posted 117 in his career.

Here’s a typical example of LeBron “throwing the hammer down”

Irving scored a game-high 32 points and dished out 12 assists.

Smith knocked down six three-pointers, finishing with 22 points.

Love put up 11 points with six rebounds in his first game back since suffering a thigh bruise on Friday night.

Rondo continued his impressive season, dishing out a game-high 16 assists.

DeMarcus Cousins had a quiet night, scoring just 14 points.

The Cavs improve to 37-14 with the win, while Sacramento continues its downslide, losing their fourth-straight game to fall to 21-31.

Cleveland is off Tuesday and hosts the Los Angeles Lakers in Kobe Bryant’s final visit to Cleveland on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 8 PM, as the game will be televised nationally on ESPN. It is the Cavs’ last game before the All-Star Break.
