Cleveland Oh. – After the offensive output from the Cavs on Wednesday night where they scored 140, tonight’s win was less scoring, but more defense as the Cavs beat the Wizards 114-90. The Cavs Started strong which is something Coach JB Bickerstaff really was somewhat concerned with coming in. “What I was most impressed with was our start. We didn’t allow the last game to kind of hang over. We came out extremely purposeful and kind of got busy especially defensively and converted offense.”

It was a complete game as the Cavs never trailed and the game was only tied at 3 apiece. That was it. From there, the Cavs had all kinds of things going for them that started with their defense.
There were dunks, which started early with an impressive Jarret Allen dunk. Max Strus and Caris Levert also wanted to get in on the party. There were three’s. George Niang hit three in the first half. There was great defense. It was just a complete game from the Cavs.

The Cavs are 7-3 since the injuries to Darius Garland and Evan Mobley. They have played some of their best basketball of the season. They are second to the Indiana Pacers in team assists. The ball is moving, the defense is solid, and guys are smiling. The vibes around this team are great. It will be interesting when they are fully healthy.
Feels like a good time to mention that your All-Star vote counts 3x today…

There was room for a letdown tonight, but they didn’t even come close to a letdown. They decided early on they are the better team and took the will from the Wizards. That’s what good teams do. This team has a chance to be really special once they can get healthy. And tonight, they handled their business. It was fun. All smiles in the locker room as Donovan Mitchell, who only played 25 minutes and scored 26 points, was only talking about the Cavs “dunk contest” and lobbying to get Jarrett Allen to the All-Star Game. It’s a great feel around the team right now. Keep it up, the Cavs might be smiling a lot more come April/May.
