3. Role Play- The first few games of this series opened up Cleveland’s eyes to how important the role players would be for this seven-game scrap. Every single player on the Celtics roster knew what their role was and executed their job properly. Cleveland didn’t know what hit them once the starting unit came out of the game.
But Ty Lue and company have made the adjustments necessary to have a chance at winning this series.
It showed in Game 3 when the Cavs bench added 42 points in relief. Jeff Green, Larry Nance Jr., Kyle Korver Jordan Clarkson, Cedi Osman, and Ante Zizic all scores off the bench for Cleveland, providing the most productive night of the playoffs for the Cavaliers’ second unit. If that becomes a trend instead of an anomaly, the team will be in great shape moving forward.
