The Cleveland Cavaliers are a part of a three-team trade that just occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Here are the details:
Brooklyn Nets receive: James Harden
Houston Rockets receive: Victor Oladipo, Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, Nets 2022, 2024, and 2026 1st round picks, Cavs 2022, 1st via Bucks, Nets 2021, 2023, 2025, and 2027 pick swaps with Rockets, 2024 Cavs 2nd
Cleveland Cavaliers receive: Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince
Indians Pacers receive: Caris LeVert
Simply getting healthy bodies will help a Cavs team that is so depleted with injury early in the season. Allen is averaging 11.2 points a game, 10.4 rebounds a night and 1.7 assists. Prince scores 8.1 points and 2.1 rebounds a game.
Both of these players will be able to help a team that is struggling after a very hot start. The team does lose Dante Exum who really did not contribute much to the club.
Of course, the highlight of the trade is James Harden going to the Nets and that roster now has Harden, Kevin Durant and the news-making Kyrie Irving on it. Additionally, the Rockets get an astounding four 1st round picks in return.
Cavs will also waive Thon Maker and Yogi Ferrell in a corresponding move.
Well, the Cavs aren’t just going to fold up and tank this season away. These two additions will help the team win some games and hopefully, stay competitive in the Eastern Conference.
