Cavaliers weather third quarter Boston run to escape with 102-99 win; three takeaways

1. Lots of Love for K-Love

Over the last three seasons, it felt as if Kevin Love was third in line on offense behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

That thinking was history tonight, as he knocked down a corner three to ice the game for the Cavs with under a minute to play.

The shot came after LeBron James got the ball on the left block and made a cross court pass to Love on the right baseline after drawing the double team:

“We knew they were gonna get the switch, and we knew Horford was coming baseline side,” head coach Tyronn Lue said of drawing up the play. “So either Bron had the small on him, or we had the screen in the cross court for Kevin. And Bron made a great pass, and Kevin made a great shot.”

“I was happy I just found myself in the right spot, they went to double [James] and I knocked it down,” Love said.

Love ended the game with 15 points, second only to James in scoring, and 11 rebounds.
