– Cavaliers (10-2, 1st in Central): Cleveland comes into tonight’s match-up as winners in four of their previous five outings, including Friday’s impressive (104-81) victory over the Detroit Pistons inside Quicken Loans Arena.
Kyrie Irving led all Cleveland scorers in Friday night’s win, en route to 25 points, 11 assists, two rebounds, and one steal in 29 minutes of playing time.
Irving continues to lead the Cavaliers in scoring through their first twelve games of the season, averaging 24.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. LeBron James trails just behind Irving with 23.2 points per game.
Two Cleveland “bigs” are bringing down 10 or more rebounds per game. Currently, Kevin Love leads the Cavaliers on the glass, grabbing 11.0 rebounds per game. Tristan Thompson (10.3 rebounds per game) isn’t far behind.
LeBron James continues to play extremely well for the defending NBA champs, averaging 23.2 points, 9.0 assists, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.0 steal in 36.2 minutes per game.
The Cavs are carrying a 7-and-1 record at Quicken Loans Arena, where they average 113.6 points per game. In each of their eight home games, Cleveland has scored at least 100 points, including three games with 120 or more.

– Trail Blazers (8-8, 2nd in Northwest): Portland comes into tonight’s bout with Cleveland on the tail end of a back-to-back set. Last night, the Blazers were defeated (107-103) by the New York Knicks inside Madison Square Garden in a back-and-forth battle. The Blazers have now found their way into the “L” column in four of their previous five outings.
Damian Lillard leads the Trail Blazers in both scoring and assists, averaging 27.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 35.3 minutes per game.
Mason Plumlee will be roaming the paint for the Trail Blazers. Plumlee, 26, currently leads Portland in rebounding, averaging 8.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 26.7 minutes per game.
Entering tonight’s match-up with Cleveland, Portland has the highest scoring backcourt at 51 points per game (Lillard and C.J. McCollum).
