3. Dinobots, roll out!
The second unit, aka the Dinobots as Channing Frye nicknamed them, once again added the extra push the Cavs needed.
They combined for 49 of the Cavs 113 points, and were led by Dwyane Wade, who was one point shy of tying his season-high with 24 on 9-of-13 shooting from the field.
During the second quarter especially, the second unit pushed the offensive pace to give the Cavs a 16-point lead at halftime. In the fourth quarter, Wade’s 12 points helped insure that his former team would not make a comeback.
With the lone exception of the opening minutes of the game, the Cavs didn’t mess around and held a pretty steady lead for most of the game. As a result, the starters were also able to get some rest in the fourth quarter, which will no doubt be key as the schedule intensity ramps up and we get deeper into the season.
