Cavaliers five-game win streak ends with 119-116 loss to Bucks; three takeaways

1. The almost comeback

After sloppy second and third quarters, (more on that in a minute) the Cavs were down by 20 with just under 11 minutes to go. It was then, however, that the second unit, plus Jae Crowder, really buckled down on both ends of the floor and led the team on a monstrous 24-2 run to give the Cavs a 107-105 advantage.

Maybe the most impressive part of the run was that it was done with LeBron James on the bench. Wade led the unit offensively, nailing three 3-pointers in his old college arena during the stretch.

The Bucks would not shy away from the challenge however, closing out the game by outscoring the Cavs 14-9. The dagger was a Giannis Antetokounmpo and-one layup with five seconds left that gave the Bucks a five-point lead, 118-113.

It wasn’t quite over yet, as James made this play to pull the Cavs to within two with under two seconds remaining:

The Cavs were then forced to foul Khris Middleton, who made the first of two free throws. James got the rebound and threw up a full court Hail Mary shot that didn’t go the distance.
